Egg
3DClaimed from a Weekly Care Package. It rests in a nest next to your agent in the main menu and hatches about a week later, as long as it is fed.
Counter-Strike 2 lets you raise a pet chicken. Claim a Chicken Egg from your Weekly Care Package, keep it fed and it grows into one of 3 breeds and 34 colors that follows you into matches. Here is every one of them, in 3D.
Four life stages. Growth runs on time and food, not on matches played.

Claimed from a Weekly Care Package. It rests in a nest next to your agent in the main menu and hatches about a week later, as long as it is fed.

Every egg hatches into the same small yellow chick. It stays in the main menu and is still too young to come onto maps.

The breed and color are rolled at random and revealed. From here the pet is cleared to follow you into matches.

Fully grown and feathered. It keeps you company until it retires of old age, and its HatchBook stays on your profile.

"Feed your pet to keep it around." Chicken Feed drops from Weekly Care Packages in three sizes, from a regular bag to bulk. The game checks whether the food runs out before the next life stage and warns you when it is low. An egg without food never hatches, and a pet without food leaves for good, so take the feed whenever the care package offers it.
Built on the classic Counter-Strike chicken: a tall single comb and a long tail. The breed with the most colors.
A round, fluffy bantam with silky feathers all the way down to its feet.
A crested breed with a big pom-pom of feathers on top of its head.
Your first rank-up of the week opens the Weekly Care Package. Weekly drops need Prime, so free accounts cannot get a pet.
The egg is not offered every week and it takes both of your reward picks, so you skip the case or skin that week.
Chicken Feed comes from later Weekly Care Packages. The game warns you when food runs low. Run out and the egg or pet leaves for good.
The egg hatches into a chick, the chick becomes a pullet with its breed and color, and the pullet grows into a hen.
Give it a name, take it to the photo booth and fill the Chick, Pullet and Hen chapters of its HatchBook.
Pets arrived in Counter-Strike 2 with the Rush Hour update on September 22, 2026. Valve left them out of the patch notes; players found the Chicken Egg as a new option in their Weekly Care Package, after more than a year of dataminers spotting pet code and animations in the game files.
A pet is a cosmetic companion with its own loadout slot. It gives no gameplay advantage. You can own one at a time, it cannot be traded or sold, and no marketplace lists it, which is why there are no CS2 pet prices to track. The breed and color are picked at random when the chick grows into a pullet: Catalana (13 colors), Silkie (9 colors), Polish (12 colors). A hidden pet seed then nudges the hue, saturation and brightness, so no two chickens look exactly alike.
Your pet lives next to your agent in the main menu and, from the pullet stage, follows you onto maps with its name shown to other players. The HatchBook records its life in Chick, Pullet and Hen chapters, with photos from the photo booth: poses with your agent, effects, filters, stickers and backdrops, including maps you have finished a match on. When a pet retires of old age, the HatchBook stays on your profile.
